Cancer will impact around half of us directly at some point in our lives. While a diagnosis can be devastating, there’s encouraging news: data from Cancer Research UK shows that half of people diagnosed with cancer in England and Wales now survive for 10 years or more.

That means many of us will be affected by cancer during our working lives. At a time that can feel isolating and uncertain, understanding and support from colleagues and employers can make a real difference – helping people maintain their confidence, relationships, financial wellbeing and sense of identity.

In this webinar, we’ll explore how we can all better support colleagues going through treatment, or those caring for a loved one with cancer. We’ll discuss common but often overlooked challenges and hear about the innovative steps workplaces – including banks – are taking to support their colleagues.

What will I learn from this session?

  • The different ways cancer can affect working life
  • Often-overlooked challenges in the workplace
  • Practical ways to support colleagues
  • Examples of innovative workplace support
  • How Bank Workers Charity can help
