Get involved

Since 1883, we’ve been there for past and present bank workers in times of need. Here’s how you can help us continue that support.

Every day, we hear from people across the banking community facing challenges – from ill health and caring responsibilities to money worries or a major change at home or at work. When that happens, we offer personalised support, practical guidance and, in some cases, financial help.

But in recent years, demand for our services has increased significantly. Here’s how you can get involved so we can keep being there for bank workers and their families in the years ahead.

Why get involved?

Your generosity helps build a stronger, more resilient banking community – and makes a real difference to people like David.

David’s story

When his manager asked if he was okay, David broke down in tears.

His 33-year marriage had ended, leaving him to care for his teenage son alone. Their relationship was strained, money was tight, and when his washing machine broke, it felt like the final straw.

David’s manager encouraged him to call Bank Workers Charity.

How we helped:

  • Awarded a grant for a new washing machine
  • Funded counselling to help David process the breakup
  • Connected him with relationship counsellors, who provided a safe space to talk things through with his son

Before speaking to Bank Workers Charity, it felt like everything had fallen apart. I cannot speak more highly about the support they’ve given me. I’m grateful beyond belief.
